Many parents are turning to St. Mary School not only for the superior education given to all students, but also because we provide the tools necessary to be successful outside the classroom. The concept of “value –based” education is at the heart of St. Mary elementary school’s curriculum. We not only work to help our students achieve academic excellence, we also devote a lot of attention to the thoughtful construction of a child’s character.

The challenging curriculum at St. Mary elementary school meets or exceeds the requirements and standards of the State of New Jersey and The Archdiocese of Newark. Our certified faculty is committed to bringing out the best in their students. The dedicated instructors teach the time-honored basics of the catholic elementary school experience plus a curriculum that has been expanded to keep pace with the times.

Grades K-8 receive instruction in the following subjects:
Religion, Math, Reading, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Foreign Language (Spanish K-6, Spanish/French Immersion Format 7&8), Art, Music, Computers and Library.

St. Mary elementary school students enthusiastically participate in learning experiences.

We offer a departmentalized curriculum for grades 6-8. Advanced placement courses are available to students in grade 8 who are capable of advancing beyond their grade level in Algebra & Foreign Language. These eligible students are afforded the opportunity for advanced courses at Saint Mary High School.

Student progress is evaluated through progress reports, parent/teacher conferences, report cards and standardized tests. Standardized Achievement Tests are administered once a year in grades K-8. Saint Mary Elementary School consistently scores well above the national average.

Saint Mary Elementary School graduates are accepted to the top high schools where they continue to excel academically.
